Welcome folks. My name is George Lane, and David Johnson asked me to be the resident blogger covering the Atlanta Thrashers. It is a great opportunity, and I am excited to be a part of this site.

About Me

I currently am a student at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. I go to just about every game, and have so since the lockout. I followed the Thrashers and the NHL before the 04-05 season, but not with the passion (insanity?) that I do today.

I believe that I bring a somewhat different perspective to the hockey blogging world because I am younger than most hockey writers and because I was bred in the south (yes, there are some hockey fans down here).

Beliefs

I believe in Blueland, and in Kari Lehtonen. I believe that Ilya Kovalchuk is by far the best goal scorer in the league, and has been for a few years. I believe that hockey is the best game on Earth, and I believe that if anyone has the chance to go to a game live, they will be hooked. I believe that seeing a Thrashers game with 18,545 of my closest friends in Philips Arena is an incredible way to spend an evening.

And last but not least, I believe that Lord Stanley’s Cup will spend a warm summer (or two, or three, etc…) in Atlanta sometime in my lifetime (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Blogging Experience

My first dip into the writing world is just about at its first birthday. A friend and I started up Talking Thrash last January after debating about it for a long, long time (I blame the name – we just couldn’t agree on one).

It definitely was a great decision, as I have come to meet a lot of awesome people both in Thrasher nation and around the NHL because of it.

I am looking forward to writing here, and hope you enjoy my work.
